This was an inspiring book written by Barbrera Smucker. The book is about a young man, Peter who lives in Russia at around 1917. Peters life was perfect until the days of the revolution. His family is ripped apart by the stomping, shouting soldiers who parade through the streets of Tiegen. Diseases are spreading like weeds and killing off thousnds. Should they follow the ten commandments and remain under Mennonite tradition or break through to get to the new world and have the words "though shalt not kill" haunting them forever? Barbara Smucker catches the fears of the Russians in war in a book and lets us experience how hard it was to be German Mennonite in Russia.

Days of Terror is a heart felt story and deserves as much credit as possible. The characters were realistic and made the storyline flow along nicely. The author (Barbara Smucker)did an excellent job of describing what happened to the mennonites during the Russian Revolution and the fall of Czarism. I would recomend this book for anyone who wants to learn more about the Russian Revolution and doesn't like reading out of text books.

Days of Terror is an excellent mix of historical fact and good storytelling. The characters are well developed and the plot moves along nicely. I used this book for a junior high novel study and they liked it too.
